So it's the clutch. Seems like the synchronizing gears and other more expensive pieces are alright.
Phew.
So then, that leaves a few other issues... The car really runs rough when the A/C is on and the car is idling. Seems as though it's just bogging down. When the air conditioning turns on in a car, it's supposed to increase the engine's idle speed a bit so it doesn't bog down. My car didn't get that memo.
That should be uber minor.
I still have to replace the blown speaker in the door. I don't know if I mentioned this earlier or not, but I've ripped apart most of the dashboard and driver's side door to replace the old stereo with the one I pulled out of Ellen. That gives me a CD player. CDs are the next big thing, I think. I believe they're here to stay. The door's apart so I can replace a blown speaker there that buzzed and rattled when I turned the music up a bit.
So... while I'm at it, might as well upgrade all the speakers. That should take care of all the planned upgrades. Make it sound good, and just deal with the rest.
Then there's a bit of a thunking when I accelerate while making a left turn. CV joints, I think. They're a pivot point in the piece that connects the transmission to the wheel. I'll go after the used car dealer for that one. Shouldn't be a big deal.
...and that should be it. Lucy gave me an Evil Eye from her trip to Greece to hang from my rear-view mirror to prevent further issues with the car, so I'm in the clear now.
Thanks Lucy.
I'll call you first when my car breaks down next. Even before the tow truck operator.
I'm sleepy. Good night.
